Praise and worship is a powerful expression of love that transcends the possibility of music. It is our passion to worship our God in spirit and in truth and God will teach us to be true worshippers.
“And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took a harp and played it with his hand so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.” 1 Samuel 16:23 KJV
The role of the musician on the worship team is to usher in the presence of God and to set the atmosphere in which the Word will come forth. That is a big responsibility and without God it cannot be done. We find new ways to express ourselves on our instruments as we give Him glory. The heart of a worshipper over-shadows talent because as you surrender to Him, He will open your eyes to things you never thought you could do.
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty, who was and is to come.
When His people come together in worship chains break and the glory of the Lord fills the place. The worshipper helps bring the people together with singing and in spirit. They lift their voices as an example to the Lord, and His presence rains down upon us.
An often overlooked part of the worship ministry is the sound reinforcement, but it is vital to the worship service and every bit as important as leading worship, singing or playing an instrument. It reflects the face of the church and reveals the level of professionalism. It is a ministry that takes a special calling. If you enjoy working with audio equipment, then this is a great ministry to plug in to.
