Beautiful Feet

River Church,

This last Sunday, our founding pastor Danny Thornton spoke about and challenged us to head the call of Jesus to go into all of the world carrying the message of hope and good news to the nations. This is always a great reminder as we get settled in as Christians in our comfort zones. We don't like to be challenged to step out into the unknown but we have this promise that no matter what God is with us and He will never forsake us! The pattern is quite clear in the Bible. Adam and Eve were called to go and fill the earth with mankind. Noah was called to go and build an ark to save life during a worldwide flood. Abraham was called to go and get away from his idol worshipping family and to a land that God would show him. He was later called to go and offer up his only son, Isaac and without hesitation Abraham followed the call. From Moses called to go and set the Hebrew slaves free to the disciples commissioned to bring the gospel into the four corners of the earth, the call remains the same. We have to put action to our faith because there is a dying world around us that desperately needs Jesus. We are His hands and feet and we must go! 

Romans 10:14-15 ESV 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
