Hey Church,

The “summer of love” series is coming to an end, what a blessing it has been to go deeper into His love.  I hope everyone has been able to increase their understanding of what God’s love is and also how we can love God.   God’s love never ends.  It’s a statement that we hear so often that we tend to brush over the truth and depth of how He loves us.    1 John 3:1 says: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we may be called the children of God.”  Love is the center of who God is.  He doesn’t just show love, He is love.  His love is constant.  It was there before we recognized Him, and it will forever remain when our world continues to change.  This week the songs we sing will speak to how dynamic God’s love is for us—there are just so many layers to His love, and our prayer is that this set will resonate with you and lead you to a place of deeper connection and revelation of this impossible love.

1. “Just That Good”—This song is a reminder that God is always good.  Psalm 34 says “taste and see that the Lord is good.”  Life doesn’t always feel good, and it can be overwhelming, uncertain, and easy to get lost in our selfish ambitions.  But the goodness of God isn’t determined by our circumstances.  His goodness comes from His love.  The greatest evidence of this goodness is the cross.  God didn’t wait until we had all the answers or until we had our lives figured out.  He loved us so deeply in our brokenness that he sent Jesus to die for us, just like He said He would.  Even when we didn’t desire that love, God still chose us.  That’s how good His love is.

2. “Always On Time” – This is a powerful song about God’s timing.  Sometimes it feels like God is delayed because we don’t receive an answer within our timeframe.  We pray, we worship, we wait and wonder if God is listening.  God’s timing doesn’t mean He is absent or withholds from us in our situations until He sees fit to listen to us.  God is always working even when we don’t see or feel it.  His love is always on time.  His love is present in the daily prayers and the waiting.  His love is faithful in the breakthrough.  His love is faithful when the answer is “not yet” because His love knows exactly what we need when we need it.

3. “The Lord is With Me” – God’s love is ever-present.  Psalm 23 says “even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.”  God is with you always.  When you love someone, you want to spend time with them.  You want to get to know them and help them walk through the valleys and celebrate with them on the mountain peaks.  God’s presence in our lives is the evidence of His love.  I have found that there is nothing more comforting than knowing that God is with me.  He was with me when I was lost and broken, He is with me now leading me through this long day.  His love surrounds us every day.

4. “Won’t Stop Now” – This is a song of declaration that God is not done yet.  Because He loves us, because He is faithful and because He is with us, we can move forward in confidence knowing that God has got our backs.  God won’t stop working until your story is good.  All we need to do is surrender to Him and trust in His love and promises.  This has been a very significant song in my life.   I can hear God saying, “keep going, don’t give up, keep trusting me, I haven’t left you.”  Even when you feel like its over, God’s love gives endurance and encourages us to keep fighting and keep walking in faith.
