Hello Church,
This week I want to focus on the liberation that we have received through Jesus, and the importance of our testimonies. In Romans 10:9 it says: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved." The first thing I notice, Paul is calling us to action. Freedom and deliverance are available, but we need to make the decision to accept and believe in Jesus. God, in his infinite power and authority, gifted us the power of free will which means He cannot force us to believe. The second thing is this: there is no other path to salvation but through Jesus. The moment we choose to believe and surrender to Jesus is the first chapter in our autobiographies. There are so many more chapters to be written, stories to tell, and promises to look forward to, many of which are unrevealed to us. But life is difficult. There are heartbreaks, setbacks and failures, we battle with our emotions and thoughts. We can become prideful and forget what God has brought us through, trying to find our own way around things. We look at our success and personal goals we achieve and begin to rely on ourselves over God. Each time we face these challenges, our testimony can be a tool to help us realign our thinking and our focus. Rereading that first chapter can show us that we still need God; our testimony is a reminder that He was the only reason we were saved and the only one who could lead us through life. Winning in life does not mean we outgrow our need for grace, it is realizing our growth is born from grace. Our dependance on God should only grow from the first moment we receive Him. My testimony serves as a constant example of what God can do: it proves that God is for me, that His intention is to love me and to know me. After everything, He's still my everything. This week lets focus on our testimonies and declare what God has done for us!
