Jesus Our Passover

Hey River,
This an extension from what I was teaching on Sunday. In 1 Corinthians 5:7, Paul says that Jesus is our Passover. We learned that the Lord stepped unit he doorways of the Hebrews in ancient Egypt during the tenth and final plague. He would not allow the destroyer to enter the homes of those that had the blood of the lamb on the doorways. This was a prophetic shadow pointing to Christ himself being the perfect lamb sacrificed for us and through his blood we are saved from sin and death. Jesus as the High priest of the new covenant didn't offer his blood in the earthly temple but went into the heavenly and true temple and applied his blood on the mercy seat in heaven. Once and for all. Hebrews 9:12-13, "11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here,[a] he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining[b] eternal redemption."
