Psalm 138:2

Hey Church,

I want to echo what Pastor Dan has been preaching on and that is the importance of the Word of God in our lives. The bible is the foundation of Christian living. It tells us what is right and what is wrong. It tells us the path of salvation and the way to live a prosperous life in Christ. It lets us know that there is an epic long battle of good and evil; light and darkness. The Word of God is so important to God that He says it is exalted above His own name. 

Psalm 138:2, which states: "I will bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness, for You have magnified Your word above all Your name."

If we can see how God magnifies His word how much more should we exalt the Word in our own lives. Before we make a decision, consult the word. Before we try to do anything in God, consult the Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh. He is the Word exalted and magnified and seated in heavenly places just as the Psalmist has written. Jesus should be the center of everything we do. The beginning and the end. The final say and authority. We don't make the word adjust to our lifestyle and personal convictions. We adjust to the word. We don't bow down to culture and the loudest voice in society but we bow down to the word even if it upsets culture and the popular opinion. That is magnifying the word in our lives.
