Thank You Jesus
Hey River,
This time of year is dedicated to giving thanks. Who else deserves our thanks more than Jesus? Psalm 69 says: "I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with Thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than ox..."
This scripture is a declaration that God is Worthy of our song and praise. It's also a reminder that God notices when our hearts are filled with gratitude. When we say "thank you" to God, it displays our humbleness and dependency on Him. To Him, it's worth more than sacrifice. When we honor God with gratitude, we surrender our pride because we know that nobody else could take our place on the cross. God recognizes our gratitude and honors when we are humble before him. Remember that God is a jealous God, he wants to be #1 in our lives. Above career, financial goals, or any desire we may have. God is so faithful that when we magnify him, He leads us to the promised land.
Where would we be without God's mercy and grace!? I believe we all have numerous things to be thankful for, and many of us say "thank you" so many times throughout the day that, "Thanksgiving" might seem meaningless. But challenge yourselves to think of what God has done in your life and truly thank Him for it. Think about where you would be if God didn't show up and deliver you. Think of the days of sorrow and hopelessness as a reminder of how God can turn ashes into beauty.
When I say Thank you Jesus, it's not just words. It's my heart declaring that nobody else could have brought me from the miry clay, nobody else could change me from the inside out, nobody else could have taken my place and given me a new life. Only Jesus could love me so deeply that He would die for me and continually lead me from glory to glory. Amen!
