Unfinished, But Not Forgotten

Pastor Dan has been preaching on this verse,
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
That means, God is not done with you yet!
There may be seasons where you feel forgotten, delayed, or discouraged, but His faithfulness has never left your side. I know I have been in seasons where it felt like my life was over and I had no where else to turn, but just like the song “Goodness of God” reminds us, “All my life You have been faithful, all my life You have been so, so good.” Even in the moments we don’t understand, God is still working behind the scenes for our good and His glory. We don’t see it in the moment but when we look back on past situations, we can see His hand in it. Maybe He turned around a really bad situation and made something good come out of it, or maybe He stopped you from making a bad decision that would change your life. Maybe the Lord saved your life or blessed you in the last possible moment, right before you thought it was over. That is how good He is. You can look back and see His goodness time and time again.
As the Body of Christ and as individuals, we can trust that the story isn’t over. What feels unfinished to us is still in the hands of a faithful Father. When has He ever failed? He has never and WILL never fail. It is in His nature to finish what He starts and He also promises to do so. So let us lean on Him whether we’re walking in victory or defeat. Whatever season you’re in right now, trust in the Lord. Read His word to remind yourself of who He is. Listen to others testify of His goodness and cling to those truths for your life. If God can restore my life, surely He can restore yours. If He healed then, He still heals now. If He delivered then, He delivers now. If He moved in power then, He moves in power now, if He answered prayers then, He answers now. HE DOES NOT CHANGE. If He said it, He will do it.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
