Hey church!
There are places within us that feel uncertain, empty, dark, and broken. But Scripture reminds us that “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18).
God does not want us to remain broken, but sometimes our brokenness creates space for Him to meet us in a deeper way. When our strength is gone, His presence becomes our strength. When our spirit is low, we are not far from God. We are invited to draw near.
Psalm 51, Isaiah 66:2, Matthew 5:3, Luke 4:18, and Romans 8:26 all point us toward a God who sees the humble, strengthens the weak, heals the brokenhearted, and meets us in our deepest places.
You are not a failure because you are broken. Your brokenness can become a sacred place where you encounter the Lord. He wants to fill the emptiness, heal what has been wounded, restore what has been lost, and redeem what feels beyond repair. I know in my darkest moments and I can look back and see that He was nearer than ever before and some of my deepest revelations of His love and character were discovered in my brokenhearted seasons. He is so faithful.
So today, let this be our prayer:
Holy Spirit, fall like rain. Come and consume all that we are. Our hearts belong to You, O God. Consume the brokenness, the emptiness, the failures, and the places we cannot fix ourselves. They belong to You. Come and restore. Come and redeem. Fill every empty place with Your presence.
His love for you is everlasting. And even in your lowest moment, He is near. Hallelujah!
