***MOBILE POP-UP PANTRY UPDATE
River Family,
We appreciate your decision to consider volunteering and becoming a part of this incredible opportunity to serve our community!
In partnership with Abundant Life Christian Center, we have decided to re-open up once a month to help those that are in need in our community.
Dates: (Open to public at 5pm)
January 21st 4:30pm-6pm
February 18th 4:30pm-6pm
March 18th 4:30pm-6pm.
Each Thursday, we will be doing the following:
- Setting up stanchions, tables, pop-up tents, etc.
- Bagging chicken, bread, eggs, and dairy items
- Distributing boxes of produce and grocery bags to 150-200 families
- Breaking down all tables, tents, and stanchions at the end of the shift
According to recently passed legislation, “New York State will require people to wear masks or cloth coverings over their mouths and noses while out in public.” We kindly ask that you abide by this by wearing a mask, if you are going to volunteer. However, we will provide you with a mask should you not have one. In addition, gloves and sanitizer will be provided. Refreshments, such as water and snack bars, will also be provided.
Due to us holding this event outside, in the back of the building, we kindly ask that you park either next door at St. Joseph’s or in the additional lot across the street in the parking lot on the corner of Wayne and Howard St.
We are also asking that anyone under the age of 18 be accompanied by a guardian, if he or she desires to participate. Lastly, each volunteer, whether under or over the age of 18, must fill out an application so that we might have an accurate headcount.
Please fill out the form below if you decide you want to volunteer:
